Switch test accounts without logging in again.
Role-based testing means being Admin, then Free, then Paid — all before lunch. Save each login once as a jar, then flip.
Set it up once
- Sign in as your first test user — do the password, the OTP, the 2FA, one last time.
- Open JarFlip and press Save jar. Name it (“Admin”) and pick a color. Every cookie for the site is captured, HttpOnly and partitioned included.
- Repeat for each role. Sign out (or open the site in a fresh profile), sign in as the next user and save another jar. JarFlip suggests the next role from your onboarding answers.
Flip
Open JarFlip on the site and click a jar chip. JarFlip snapshots the current cookies, clears the site, writes the jar and reloads the tab — usually well under a second. The side panel adds a Diff tab so you can see what a jar will add, remove and change before you flip, and the dashboard’s Jars page shows every jar’s health.
Safe by design. A failed write rolls back to exactly where you were, and Undo is available for 10 seconds after a flip or delete.
Tips
- Use the side panel to keep jars, cookies, diff and audit open next to the page while you test.
- Update a jar from the current cookies when a token refreshes, so the jar stays fresh.
- Mind device-bound sessions. If a site ties sessions to the device, JarFlip warns you that a jar may ask for sign-in again.
- Hand it to your suite. Export a jar as Playwright storageState or cookies.txt.
Questions
Do I stay signed in forever?+
A jar holds whatever cookies the site set. Short-lived sessions still expire, and sites using device-bound sessions may ask you to sign in again. Each jar shows its health, so you know before you flip.
What if a flip fails halfway?+
JarFlip snapshots your current cookies, writes the jar, and rolls back automatically if any cookie is rejected — you are never left half signed in. You can also undo a successful flip for 10 seconds.
Can a teammate use my jars?+
Export the jars you want as an encrypted JarFlip file from the dashboard (Import & export → Team bundle), share the passphrase through a different channel, and they import it. There is no server involved.
